Fifa World Cup Russsia 2018

Fifa World Cup Russsia 2018, The Neil Coutts Verdict On The Socceroos Campaign.

So its only a few more hours til world will practically will come to a halt like no other real event. Now that maybe a little exaggerated cause only 32 nations  only participate and its fair to say some participating nations can come to halt, similar to the Melbourne cup, generating a buzz like when a athlete wins a gold medal at the Olympic Games but that can sometimes feel like winning a world cup to some nationals, but failed nations looking on as opportunity passed them by, it is single handedly the World No. 1 sport, you could say like the international language of sport.

With all that in mind, the moment is slowly creeping upon us and I can feel the excitement and can’t wait to see the electricity of the world cup as you try to consume yourself into it through any means possible. It’s weird to looking forward to those long nights or early mornings only because I live down under. But you can’t help but to watch as all of the world’s eyes are glued to some form media to be in the loop on the action at the world cup in Russia this time round and with it being so accessible in this day and age. You can help but participate in a little bit of the passion in the world cup even if we are not the players on the field but watching on.

This time round 4 years I remember listening to the world cup on night shift and getting involved in workplace discussion. You see its probably only sport where you have Giant killers, meaning a sport where smaller teams can take on powerhouses and win game, with this and that football can be a low scoring gaming and can have you biting your nails and it was 12 years ago when Australia re-entered the international footballing landscape after drought of more then 30 years ago when the semi-professional football team entered the world cup led by the Great Johnny Warren.

It was in 2006 when Football entered the Hearts of most Australians, we finally got to feel what it was like to be in the world cup again after such time, but we all knew it wasn’t gonna be an easy feat, but that’s football for ya, like a mixed bag of lollies but filled with emotions.

It almost feels like yesterday, when I raced home from my Job working in a call centre to Watch Australia take Italy at the round 16, who went on to be eventual champions of 2006 World Cup. Nothing worse than the feeling of being robbed, and sometimes gutting to know the Soceroos could of had a chance to be champions world aswell some may say another exaggeration but Guus did take South Korea to the semi finals at the previous world cup and it looked like he could of done same thing with the Socceroos. Guus was like a man who can turn anything he touched into gold and with limited time with the Socceroos, he was something of a magician, but really a master stroke of an tactician, who knew how to get the best out of his players like Sir Alex Ferguson.

Personally I wanted to get into the hype of the world cup back then, thinking of doing a socceroos blog but never really getting round to it. But this time round with Change take it’s first step,  it would as good as time as any to write an article about the Socceroos and their campaign to Russia to participate in the 2018 Fifa World Cup. To share my thoughts on how things may turn out with the Socceroos considering the facts are similar to of 12 years ago, when Guus Hiddink took over.

This time round running the healm of the Socceroos, is Bert van Marwijk. A Dutch man like Guus and only just taking over the Socceroos less than 5 months before the main event. So with in mind it can’t all that bad could it, it could of been planned anyway Bert does have what it take, he did take Holland to the final only to lose to Spain at the 2010 World Cup thru an unfortunate event and also won trophies as a manager in the domestic league of Europe. So he may get lucky this time round and what we may see this time round is a team that is hungry after watching the Socceroos of 2006  on TV and now they have  their chance to prove themselves on the International Footballing landscape and fly the flag for Australia in Russia.

With the Australia Culture and to be the best at what we apply ourselves to, its fair to say Australia can be a silent killer, especially as the confidence of the Socceroos ever so grow and with a not so tough group in Russia, Australia this time round actually have a fighting chance to take the world cup, and a visit from lady luck may make an appearance, but that is the beauty of the FIFA World Cup as you watch the players dig deep, as a grueling passage of games awaits them, unlike their domestic jobs where players get a weeks break in between games. With every participating in the world cup desperate to lift that coarse gold trophy and earn the of champions of the world. Hopefully this World Cup is something that of stories are made of and that the Socceroos may raise a few eyebrows as they return to the world stage for the 4th time in the row. May you bring the trophy home, Good Luck Socceroos.
